Future Plans

Strategic Priority: Provide and maintain good quality housing stock

VWHA is aiming to develop at least 150 houses over the next three years, though a variety of multi-disciplinary partnerships and collaborations. It also aims to provide high quality tenancy management services and tenancy support, as these make a significant difference to the stability and satisfaction of tenants.

Strategic Priority: Develop and maintain partnerships to increase housing stock

Innovative and effective partnerships have been fundamental to VWHA's achievements to date, and are critical for future growth. VWHA aims to continue to develop partnerships which enable innovative solutions to affordable housing needs and to provide maximum valuye for funds contributed or invested.

Strategic Priority: Obtain core funding to enable VWHA to grow until it is self-sustainable

VWHA's aim is to become self-sustaining through rental income. Current modelling indicates this is achievable by 2012. This entails a significant increase in the number of properties owned by VWHA, which in turn requires significant organisational growth. Philanthropic funding will be sought to enable this organisational growth until VWHA is self-sustaining.

Strategic Priority: Build strong organisational capacity

VWHA must grow as an organisation in order to achieve the planned significant growth in affordable housing for women and children, and to continue to fulfil registration compliance requirements.

VWHA will constantly monitor its operating environment and market, in order to respond to the changing needs of disadvantaged women and children, and to changes in the economic climate and property market. The proposed projects will be evaluated and modified as needed according to the changing market. The plans and objectives described in VWHA's Strategic Plan will be adjusted as necessary in response to the impact of changing economic circumstances.
